42 YEARS. GENERATIONS OF COUGARS. ONE LASTING LEGACY.
Dear Kaiser Cougar Alumni, Family, Friends and Community Partners,
For more than four decades, the waters of the Kaiser High School pool have been a place of hard work, triumphs and unforgettable memories. At the center of that legacy is a man who dedicated his life to shaping generations of Kaiser student-athletes — Kaiser alumnus, former Cougar student-athlete and longtime Boys and Girls Swimming Team Head
Coach, Asa Tanaka.
Coach Tanaka’s impact on Kaiser High School runs deep. For an extraordinary 42 years, he returned to his alma mater to lead the swimming program, guiding generations of student-athletes to championship success. Under his leadership, the program achieved numerous OIA championships and State titles. Beyond the victories, Coach Tanaka instilled the values of discipline, perseverance, teamwork and sportsmanship in hundreds of young men and women.
The Kaiser High School Athletic Foundation is asking our Cougar community to come together to honor Coach Tanaka and celebrate his lasting legacy. We are raising funds to recognize Coach Tanaka’s remarkable career with a permanent bronze plaque at the Kaiser High School pool. More than a plaque, this tribute will serve as a lasting reminder of the countless student-athletes he coached, mentored and inspired throughout his 42 years of service.
We invite you to be part of this tribute by making a donation in honor of Coach Tanaka. Every contribution, regardless of size, will help us reach our fundraising goal and ensure that his contributions to Kaiser High School and generations of Cougar athletes are remembered for years to come.
